Join us Wednesday, November 1 for an educational seminar with Beau Glim the Project Manager at NADCA National. He will be presenting an overview of gate design, a summary of the two-day course offered by NADCA.
Thank you to our Fall Meeting Sponsor Lethiguel USA (formerly Midland Technologies) and our Student Sponsor OEE Companies.
OVERVIEW OF GATE DESIGN
The Overview of Gate Design class is a condensed version of NADCA's 2-day PQ2 & Gating course. The class will provide a brief overview of the NADCA Gating Equation as a starting point. From there it will explain the importance of segmenting the die cavity and guidelines for gate placement. Once the location of the gate(s) is known the geometry of the gate itself can be considered. The math required to develop the gate geometry will be provided, including the Atomization Equation. From there the class will design the runner by working back to the biscuit or sprue. Finally, guidelines will be provided for locating and sizing of outgates, overflows, and vents.
